Galloping
Goose Regional Trail stretches from Sooke to downtown Victoria where
it joins with the Lochside Regional Trail. Along the way it passes
by Thetis Lake, through Matheson Lake and skirts the Sooke Potholes.

Botanical Beach,
Juan de Fuca Provincial Park, Port Renfrew, BC. Day use park, great drive up the southern west coast of Vancouver Island. About three hours dive each way so plan for time to explore. Well worth the drive.

old railway line which has been converted into a recreational trail
from Sidney to Victoria where it joins with the . Creating a trail system which extends from Swartz
Bay to the Sooke Basin on the south western coast of Vancouver Island.

Victoria's
scenic oceanfront walkway follows Dallas Road and stretches from the
Ogden Point Breakwater to Ross Bay and includes Mile 0, Holland Point
Park, Beacon Hill Park, and Clover Point Park.

From
Butchart Gardens to Thunderbird Park, Victoria is often called the City of Gardens
for good reason. Stroll through seaside parks and walkway's which
encompass almost all of the Victoria shoreline from Esquimalt and
the Victoria Inner Harbour to Beacon Hill Park.

Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Site is great fun

Elk Lake Regional Park is popular for its freahwater fishing and watersports.
Main beach has playground, picinc sites,
rental shops and cafes.

Consists
of two joined lakes, Upper Thetis Lake and Lower Thetis Lake. One
of the nicest park close to Victoria, excellent hiking and fishing
all year round. Beautiful forested trails around both lakes with views
of surrounding area from the summit.

Part of the Goldstream Provincial Park and Campgounds located a mere 16 km from downtown Victoria Vancouver Island via Trans Canada Highway 1.

The
Vancouver Island portion of the Trans Canada Trail starts in Victoria
traveling north where it connects to the mainland by ferry. The length
of the trail is approximately 200 km and passes through scenic forest,
mountain, coastal rural areas, and provincial parks.

Shallow
tidal pools and warm sandy beachs...great spot for sun bathing and
playing on the large open sand bars when the tide is out. Pleasant
hikes through sunny forested trails, with wildlife viewing along the
lagoon and the tidal flats.

Gowlland
Tod Park offers more than 25 kilometers of trails and spectacular
views. Posted signs give trail information. Malahat Viewpoint, Squally
Reach and Jocelyn Hill viewpoints offer spectacular views of the Finlayson
Arm Inlet and the Malahat Drive.

Mutli use day park with a mountain biking area and summit hiking trail.
Great views of Victoria, the Saanich Inlet and SouthernVancouver Island.

Wide
open sunny fields and sandy beachs. East sooke Park is one of the
largest regional parks on southern Vancouver Island. Close to Victoria
the park offers causal beach picnicking to some serious hiking trails.

Waterfalls,
clear pools and cool swimming. Great spot for picnicing on a hot summer
day. Sooke Potholes can also be
reached by parking at the access, approx. 3km before the park and a enjoyable
40 minute walk.
