At this point Iam not even sure we got on the right trail it's so poorly marked.
We printed out the map from the District of Nanaimo website and parked at
the Harewood Mines Road access with the intention of heading south to the
Community of Extension then north again following the trail to Colliery Dam.

There is a sign posted up by the power line tower just up from the parking
area. I didn't follow this trail which may be the right one (if anyone knows
for sure please email me) as I had brought along my bike. The people
I talked to said I was on the right trail so I continued to follow the trail along
the power lines to the Community of Extension and hopefully some of the
viewpoints marked on the map. This proved to be a mistake as I had my
two dogs with me and we keep running into motored quads and dirt bikes...

Eventually we headed back to the main road where the TCT trail picks up again
across Harewood road and heads to Colliery Dam following the power lines.
All things considered I wouldn't spend the the time and gas to do this again.
There are much nicer and easier sections of the TCT trail to find like the
Holt Creek Trailhead and the Haslam Creek Suspension Bridge.

Colliery Dam and Parkway Trail, Nanaimo.
Your much better off parking at Colliery Dam or one of the other accesses
to the City of Nanaimo's 20km paved Parkway Trail and the newly
extended E&N; trail these trails allows pedestrians and bikers to move
about the City of Nanimo without the hassle of vehicular traffic.
